Introducing our 2017-2018 Raffle Quilt: “Bickford Garden”
Eighteen quilt blocks and pieces for two more blocks were found in a pizza box by friends sorting fabric from the late Joyce Bickford, a HDQG member. This find became their “Ah Ha” moment. With the help of some friends a quilt was designed.
After much discussion and planning, the idea was presented to and accepted by the Board of HDQG. The blocks were finished and the body of the quilt completed. The applique border was designed and completed. The borders were added to the body of the quilt.
The custom quilting using patterns from the applique flowers was completed. The binding and sleeve were completed.
And this is how “Bickford Garden” grew?!
Sales from our raffle benefit David’s House, the New England Quilt Museum and other local charities.
